Thanks to old Kai s unlock ability, Gohan becomes capable of pushing his power past his normal levels of using Super Saiyan forms to their limits via the potential unleashed state, becoming ultimate Gohan. While rarely doing so, he is still able to transform into his Super Saiyan forms for additional power. In this state Gohan s power becomes at least as great as a hypothetical Super Saiyan 3 state (as it pushes Gohan to his full potential).
